416H motion control lever issue

Recommended Posts

Im sure someone has an idea, as to  what is going on with this 416H, I recently purchased. I 've searched through the forums and didn't see anything that covered it.

I believe it's a 1990. The motion control lever is down in front of the seat. Not on the column When I pull the lever out of neutral and move it forward, it goes all the way forward It doesn't stay where I set it. It just goes wide open. Tried mowing with it and had to constantly hold back on the lever to keep it from running full speed. I'm sure it's something simple but I don't know enough about these yet to figure it out. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Under the seat is your cam plate. There is a nut in the center with a friction washer. You can try tightening that to see if it helps.

Inspect the washer on top of the cam plate, mine was in two pieces. I assume someone tightened it too tight.

Also, the washer and cam plate should be dry, no lubricant.
