Questions about Charger Automatic

Recommended Posts

three50seven

Hi everyone, I'm looking at possibly buying a Charger Automatic but I don't know much about this era of Wheel Horses. This particular tractor has actually had a 14hp Kohler Magnum put in in place of the original 12hp. Current owner says he has had it for 4 or 5 years and has had no issues. He also rewired it entirely. Are there any other issues to look out for with these?

I know these tractors were made before the attach-a-matic system, so what implements are available for them? This one doesn't include anything, just the tractor. I believe my long frame dozer blade will fit, right? Any other info would be greatly appreciated too!

You can put tachmatic hookup on them.  Then you can use new implements.  I have  Charger 12 and Electro 12 both modified to the newer tach matic.  One is on snow plow duty the other will be on blower duty (with a replacement 16hp engine)

They are great machines just make sure the hydro is still strong.  Get her fully warmed up then put her against and imovable object she should spin her wheels on pavement or dig a hole on dirt.

Yes they are long frames and you plow will fit...you will need a rear axle mount.  Does the Charger have hydraulic lift???  It was an option.

I have a rear axle mount, so I should be good there. I believe it has the hydro lift as well. I haven't seen it in person, just pics.
