jdecker94 2 #1 Posted September 10, 2015 hello folks. today im going to go look at a c195, does not run, turns over. has a 48" deck and seller says a contraption on the back (helpful, hopefully a 3 point) are there any common issues i should look out for? back fender pan has a piece missing, other than that it looks complete in good shape. clip 185 #2 Posted September 10, 2015 Could be wrong, thought the only 3pts were on D series. Potentially a clevis hitch or a dozer bracket.
jdecker94 2 #3 Posted September 10, 2015 i believe i have seen a c195 with a 3 point before. i have a spare dozer bracket hanging around somewhere, and some 26x12-12 tires on 6 lug rims. now ill just need a snow plow, lol.
papaglide 542 #4 Posted September 10, 2015 A few things: a 3 point (cat 0) and rear PTO were an option on this tractor. The rears are 15" wheels. Also attachments from c-series and 300,400,500 series won't fit.
Aldon 4,828 #5 Posted September 10, 2015 The rear 3 point and Rear PTO are hard to come by and hold value by themselves. The PTO off engine is expensive compared to the standard PTO on the Other C-series. The standard PTO can be retrofitted if necessary if you are not doing a restoration. You can run 69 inch style ariens sourced deck or I know you can also run a 48 inch deck from other C series tractors so I assume any C series deck will work. Caveat is I am not sure the other decks will work with the standard Mule. The C 195 came with Mule with single pulley and the second pulley is on the frame of tractor. Papaglide is correct as to rear tires. Hard to replace. The front wheel bearings are difficult to locate and expensive if you can find them should they need attention.
jdecker94 2 #6 Posted September 11, 2015 well i bought the tractor. doesnt run but has great compression and it feels tight. no 3 point, just a 2 foot long trailer hitch on the back. the back tires and rims are in great shape, the fronts hold air for about 30 seconds. overall its a nice machine, i cant wait to mow with it this weekend. all i need is a belt from the pto to the deck, the hour meter reads 360 some hours. hopefully its a working meter.

JackC 617 #9 Posted September 11, 2015 A diamond in the rough. Looks like that coveted Super C found a good home. A little make up and lipstick and the horse will be ready to ride.
elliot ness 1,916 #10 Posted September 12, 2015 Great find, W/H did not make very many of these gems. I have one an I put a C-series dozer blade on it just by using that 520 series blade extension and modifying the rear blade mounting bracket, I will post a few pics. Oh and I also made it a hydraulic side to side blade. 4
jdecker94 2 #11 Posted September 13, 2015 well i made some "progress" on the horse today before it rained. needs either a key switch or starter solenoid, and needs the tins cleaned out. it turned fine when i bought it but now it feels seized, then i noticed grass packed under the flywheel shroud, probably whats doing it, no big deal. all in all it seems like a solid unit, cant wait until tomorrow to get the shroud off and clean under it. also i cant seem to get the drive belt cover off, every bolt just spins. i figure worse comes to worse ill crank the welder up and burn them off, and as of now thats looking like the ideal option. I had the same thing happen on one of my 195's.Every bolt and screw would just spin.I use my small angle grinder and just grind the heads off. Then replace the speed nuts. They're 1/4 " 20 .I just picked up 20 of them at our local hardware store the other day. Each tractor takes at least 12 of them. Also got kinda original looking Phillips screws to go with them.A little never-seize on the threads at re-assembly and you'll never have a problem getting them off again.Nice looking 195 by the way.I use one of mine as a tow vehicle to drag sick horses back to my shop.Have fun with your new toy.
