So the wife and decided to just go driving around where we haven't been before. Ended up in the northeast section of Connecticut poking thru the small towns up that way when I saw this Wheel Horse on a sign pole.

Also saw this weird lookin plow machine for sale, it had a 8 or 9 HP Briggs in it. Maybe homemade??

Nope Mike that's not homemade. I can't think of the name of it right now but it was sold in the late 60's or early 70's. I believe it was originally used for like logging. The log would hang underneath it. The wheel I believe we're hydraulically driven. Used a winch to lift the log. Neat find. I almost bought one like 7 years ago.

My dad was a logger, talked about dragging them with a skidder, but I never saw one. I just got to drive his dozer a few times.

Very cool! When I first got into these came across a front engine round hood way up on a pole somewhere in indiana but can't quite remember where it was. Never know when you come across them! :)

Would love to see a Quadractor up close!  Mother's Earth News did an article decades ago.  Awesome!  Company got started, built a few but never quite got all their ducks in a row...

They are incredibly unique!  I'm most surprised that someone hasn't picked up the ball and ran with it.

$2000 in complete condition is actually a good deal. The few I have seen for sale have all been in the same price range but usually need lots of work.

Quadractors are an interesting beast to say the least. The only reason i know of them is because one was on craigslist in my area awhile back... it was a basket case.
