953 nut 52,689 #1 Posted August 8, 2015 Friday I had my seven week check-up following spinal surgery and the doctor told me (in the presence of my wife) that I should be able to start doing anything that I normally did prior to the operation. Sooooo, this morning I got a couple hours of quality seat time mowing the lawn. Came back in the house singing " Back in the saddle again", the wife said I don't sing as well as Gene Autry but she was glad to see me so happy. I start Physical Therapy Monday and should be able to get back out in the barn to give the rest of the herd a little attention very soon.

Ed Kennell 36,286 #4 Posted August 8, 2015 Wow, that is good news. It's been 11 months since my wife had L-1,2,3,and4 fused and she is still not allowed to vacuum or do any laundry. She was allowed to drive and shop after two months though. Maybe I should talk to her doctor.

953 nut 52,689 #12 Posted August 9, 2015 Wonder, doc say... you could vac, or do a little laundry? Craig, Doc didn't mention vacuuming so I won't do it, can't be too careful! As for driving and shopping, since I haven't been on pain killers and it never came up following the operation I have been doing both for a few weeks.
stevasaurus 22,299 #13 Posted August 9, 2015 It has to feel good to be able to go out and mow the lawn. Come on over and mow mine...I am tired of it and can't wait for snow. Seriously...take it easy coming back...good to hear things are working out.

The "Singing Cowboy" made it famous to us 70+ year oldsters, then Steven Tyler took a few liberties with it in the late '70s. I prefer the original, my age is showing.
