New (old) truck !

Recommended Posts

Sparky

Sold my Dakota a few weeks back, was very disappointed with it and I wish I had never sold my full size truck to move into the Dakota......so.....I bought this today.
Its a 2004 with a HEMI, auto tranny and 4 wheel drive. The off-road package gives it 3.92 gears so it'll be a great towing vehicle (think tractor rustling!!)

You Chevy guys are all the same....Tony next door talks just like you pal :D .
I'm actually not a fan of red, but all the blue, green, black, tan, and silver trucks I looked at were just plain wore out.

At least you got the front " Cow Catcher" to knock other Horse Rustlers out of the way!:)

that's a big problem with used trucks. A lot of them are whipped.

That looks great. At 11 years old it certainly was well cared for looking at the body and that usually means mechanically too.

Your absolutely right. This will get about 1 mpg less than my v-8 Dakota (Dakota got 13-14mpg....this new red truck should be 12-13mpg), but it will out tow it and has way more interior room and a bigger bed than the crew cab Dakota.

Love it!

Ive been in my '08 Ram since 2010 and I LOVE it. Mine is 2wd with the high output 4.7 and 3.92 gears. (The 4.7 prior to 08 were anemic, they redesigned them and with a tune on 95 gas i was running 310+hp). Still isn't a HEMI but it will reliably pull whatever I throw at it! Bought it with 28k on the clock and just turning 117k.

Congrats on the new purchase. Looks really nice. 3:92's should pull real nice for you. I understand the mileage deal as well. My little ranger gets about 13mpg around town, while my 383 Camaro with 3:90's gets about 10. (a lot more fun driving the Camaro around as well).

Wish you the best of luck with it. Just watch out for bit of rust around the wheel wells.

Got it registered today, its legal to drive on the road!!
So here in Connecticut when ya walk in to the DMV (Dept. of Motor Vehicles) you wait in a line to get a ticket with your number (this can be anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes)....then you wait for the number to be called. I've been to DMV enough to know what being 59 numbers away from being called means...OVER 2 HOURS OF WAITING! So I've been there about 15 minutes and I'm leaning against the back wall when some guy gets fed up of waiting and storms out, and leaves his ticket behind. Hmmmm....what do I do....grab his ticket which is almost 20 numbers closer to being called than mine and in another 40 minutes it gets called and 10 minutes after that I'm walkin outa the DMV with a brand new registration in my hand! That little score saved me about 45 minutes of waiting.
Gotta pay it back right?..so as I'm leaving I see a guy with a ticket that says D813 and I hand him my D786 ticket and his eyes just about bugged outa his head! It felt great!
Finally the truck earned it keep tonight and hauled the wife and I and our little boat out to the local lake B) .
