JJFox 0 #1 Posted July 14, 2015 It looks like the spread on the mounting bolts on briggs, is a little on the narrow side.and 2 of the mounting bolts might fall in the middle, or on the edge of the frame rails

Don1977 604 #6 Posted July 15, 2015 I have an 18 HP Vanguard on a C-120. It's a tight fit. I'm using the original belts as I located the crank shaft at the original location.
pfrederi 17,175 #7 Posted July 15, 2015 Most B&S engines only have sleeve bearings on the crank shaft. They cannot deal with the end thrust created by a WH PTO. Wheel Horse put an external plate and ball bearing on some of the Briggs motors they used.

oldredrider 2,547 #9 Posted July 15, 2015 Remember; more power=more push. Compensating for low horse power by "ramming" is hard on the transmission mounting plate. Low hp requires smaller bites.
Spareparts 84 #10 Posted July 17, 2015 My GT 2500 came with a 12 hp Briggs and as stated the bearing was out and took the block with, it has a Greyhound 13 hp. (same as the Predator) on it now. It don't work hard, just carries the grandson around the yardIt will be getting a 14hp. Kohler as soon as I get it rebuilt. Then it will be a real WH.
