876 hydro leaks....any suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I have a 876 that loves to mark her territory all over my barn floor, I'm thinking I need to fix it but it runs and drives great and hydros always scare me, any suggestions, how hard is it to change gaskets in them?  Any suggestions of where to get gaskets and what not to do?  Thanks all in advance!

Usually just o ring replacement behind the nylon thingy. One of them is still available...substitution may he required for the other.

No unfortunately the whole underside is soaked, I'm sure it's at the main seal on the two halves, need to pressure wash it to be absolutely sure though...

LOL what's the nylon thingy??

Technically,  it's the cam plate. The shaft it operates on the front of the motor has two o rings that fail over time. If that is the area where it is leaking, you found the problem.

O rings are #52 and 55 both NLA  but you should be able to match them up at a good hardware store or hydro repair place. The gasket between the hydro gear and the transaxle  is also NLA... Gasket material and a scalpel :P

Don't know which gasket you need but

5955 Sundstrand hydro pump gasket nla - 102759 gasket should work
