truckin88 104 #1 Posted June 3, 2015 So was at my Dad's tonight fixing 3 of his machines, we got the MF diesel PTO going, fixed the brakes, or at least started to on his JD 260 garden tractor, they were frozen. Then onto his 520, he has 95 or 96 520 300 hours or so, and has not ran in just over year, he has had it since 2012, but my parents moved twice and it was put on the back burner. It needed an ignition trigger, so we replaced that a while ago along with the stator. We also replaced plugs, plug wires, battery and all filters. I checked wiring versus some diagrams SOI has put on here, it looks good the coil has tested ok, the condenser is new. We are getting gas. I put the plug against the tin and get a lightning bolt (Arc). But I can not get it to fire. I have put gas in the carb, choked it with a rag. We drained the battery so much we ran out of juice and had to jump off his massey diesel. Big thanks to stevebo for all the help via text. We had an issue getting fuel past the pump, took it apart, reassembled, working! Fuel filter is full of gas. Any ideas how to make it fire, pulled plugs they are wet. Eventually 930pm came and we had to shut down due to noise. Also does anyone know what the fuse ratings should be (from hood to steering wheel)?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,472 #3 Posted June 3, 2015 Sounds like it is getting fuel and the plug fires out of the cylinder. Perhaps the plugs won't fire under compression but odd that they both won't fire.Got another set of plugs you can try?Garry

cheesegrader 433 #7 Posted June 5, 2015 Fuses are:15 amp light system-nearest steering column25 amp main fuse-middle30 amp charging system--farthest from steering columnPage 15 in the owners manual.Fuse blocks are a famous weak link. I've had to replace most of mine with individual, sealed fuse holders.I think Glenn Pettit sells a cover for the original fuse block to keep out the clippings.
