I can only say that I'd prefer a 314-A.  I find it a real nuisance to be constantly shifting gears.  Not that I am lazy or anything (well, maybe a little bit), but I have lots of stuff in my yard to mow around and the gear shifting back / forward all the time is made so much simpler by just moving the motion control lever with left hand.  I also like the Automatics MUCH BETTER for snow plowing....much easier to build up momentum to smash into a large snow bank with the variable speed automatic.
Love my C-160 Auto for snow work, then my Bronco 14 for grass duty.

Hi all, on a 1977 Wheelhorse C-100 (Belgium made), I have a question

My Wheelhorse hood opens really far- it does eventually stop but I don't think it is meant to go this far and that there's a piece missing.

In this photo, there's a hole you can see (near the middle of the pic, 1/3 down) and the same on the other side of the hood mounting part of the frame- I assume some sort of bar is meant to go between them that the hood latches at the base will catch on and this stops the hood dropping further when opened? If this makes no sense sorry- I have simply always assumed that the hood is meant to open at a right angle from the front, but having seen videos, I can see most stop before that.

Does anyone know the part I need, or would two bolts, one on each side, do the job? Mine has never had one, so I am unsure.

      Thanks!!

Need some help deciding on a brand of engine to buy for my 1054. (Needs to be a diesel 10 hp+) I’m refining used motor oil/cooking oil for fuel for it. So it will have to have an option to run used oil and diesel

Hi All, I’m a member of the RedSquare Facebook group, some of you may have seen My tractor there. I have a 1992 312-8 with a 37 inch deck. It came with a house my brother bought, and was given to me. It needed work but just minor things. I mow my lawn with it, and I just bought a plow to push snow/dirt so it’s a working restoration. It was relatively well taken care of by the previous owners so it really just needed a refresh. Anyway see you around the site!

Show off what your doing from the seat of your Horse!!! Fixed up a mowing deck for the 1277 and put the plow on the C1014. Getting ready to level a topsoil pile and going down the block to mow the small park to test the mowing deck out.
