Winter Projrct Roll Out

Recommended Posts

Ed Kennell

Used the Commando 8 to pull the Carolina Skiff project out into the sun.
Last fall I decided to scale down to ONE boat.  I sold my 23' Trophy WAC and my 15' Grumman and bought this 19' Carolina skiff in Jan.
Much of the winter was spent rigging it for crabbing and fishing in the Delaware Bay.
It cane with the 70HP Johnson.  I added the mount for the 9.9  and painted both motors.
Added rod holders, front seat, cleats, wash down system, front roller for pulling crab pots, spare tire, float on bunker guides ,Lorance  chart plotter, Hummingbird  fish finder,Garmin GPS.
Will launch tomorrow at Cedar Creek , Delaware.

Good luck out there Ed.  That boat is a beauty...like the plug in sticker.  :)  My buddy and I are going Salmon fishing tomorrow, in his boat, on Lake Michigan.  I'll bet you are chomping at the bit to get out there also.  Hope you have a great day.

Real nice boat! I'm dragging mine out this weekend to "un-winterize it" and should be in the water Sunday (and maybe Monday!)

Makes me miss Smelt fishing in Lake Michigan. I know, not quite the same, but fishing none the less. Nice project results, Ed.

How did crabbing go? The best I can do for crabs is "Nick's" near Baltimore Harbor, and "Tidewater Grille" in Havre de Grace.

:woohoo:  The plug was in and it floats.   We caught a few crabs , flounder, croakers and a ton of horseshoe crabs.  I did have to throw some chicken and ribs on the grill to feed the gang.
Great weekend with Mike and his family.
