We've lived in this house since 1976, and believe me, we have seen our share of accidents around this intersection...some have been fatal.  The utility pole pictured behind this truck has been replaced 3 times.  Just 2 weeks ago...this guy tried to take it out again.  The pole won this time.  That is what was different, I know what it sounds like when someone hits that pole and the power comes down and starts dancing in the yard.  :bow-blue:   How she missed that pole and got to the house is beyond me.  I'll never forget that sound again.

You probably already know this, but be sure to have a structural engineer check out your foundation and sill plate.

Depending on when that house was built the sill plate could have been attached to the foundation with nails (dont get me started on how this has affected my life) and even though it looks OK from the outside there may be some more serious damage that shows up later.

Better safe (and paid for by her insurance!) than sorry!

Glad to hear you all are OK!

There is a tree next door to my parents house (30mph street, slight bend), it sees this once or twice a year:

I didnt think that they had drunk drivers in 1964. I thought that drunk drivers are a modern phenomena.

Dang, spelled that correct ha!
