Where can i buy parts for a Uni-Drive transmission?

Recommended Posts

Kamasan

Hello,

My name is Ole, I'm from Norway

I have bought my first Wheel Horse this week, I think it´s a 753, but I'm not sure...

Ser. no: 62-12359

Engine: Kohler K 161  S 589172  2.8626E

Transmission: Uni-drive Pat no 2988185

My case is that there was water in the gearbox. I opened it, and figured out that I need all the bearings inside and the seals new, and also a new gear. (One of the gears was damaged.)

If anybody knows how i can get these parts,I will be very pleased.

Ole

Welcome to the forum. Nice looking tractor.

Have recorded a few serial numbers.

Serial 62-12127 is a 1962 model 702 in batch 11 of 16 batches

Serial 62-12359 is your serial

Serial 62-12502 is a 1962 model 502 in batch 7 of 11 batches

Serial 62-21125 is the highest 1962 serial recorded so far

The first 1963 tractors built were 953 models and those serials range from 62-00137 to 62-00928

Serial 62-12359 is your serial and if a 1963 model it is alone

Next is serial 62-21311

It appears with the exception of the 953 the serial numbers continued from 1962.

The K161S-28626E is the model 753 engine.

Welcome to red square, you can ask Lars how he does it ( he is also from Norway) and has many wheel horses and resources

You can message him by clicking the members tab at the top of the page and scroll until you find his name ( Lars ) then click it and then select send message

Ole...Welcome to Red Square.  :)  Send a PM to Lars like was stated above...he just may have what you need, and he knows a bunch of us on this side of the pond.  You took the wrong side of the trans off...upside-down.  Should have taken the deep side off and left the gears in the shallow side...it is OK.  Clean everything up and take pictures and we can set you up.  :)

Ole :text-welcomewave: to :rs: . Not an expert like Steve stevasaurus, but from what I see your gears look good except for that 1 spot on cluster gear. In the transmission section of forum Steve has an excellent spread sheet of bearings and seals ( ) which is the biggest probable failure with water intrusion. The main carrier bearing (hopefully not completely eaten up) is no longer manufactured. Some members on here from time to time have some used. May luck be with you on the gears.

In case you have no manuals, here is a free download supplied by Admin that covers from 1958 to 1982 transmissions.
