A trying NHL season has come to and end. But top pick has been secured! I haven't been to a hockey game in like 40 yrs. Back in the day of the Memorial Auditorium. I thought the game would be a wild one with the Sabres having nothing to lose by winning and Pittsburgh fighting for a playoff spot.but it wasn't. only penalty was Crosby for shoving the goalie Lindback and Lindback popping Crosby back. That happened early and nothing escalated after that. Best thing that happened was I got on the Jumbotron during the first intermission.

 

The positives:

Crosby got blasted a few times

Not enough penalties no fights

 

3 players got hurt but 2 did return

Being I grew up in Meadville Pa...

but graduated from HS in Orchard Park...      

would make that game a tough one for me to decide who to root for.

Blackhawks won their 1st game last night.  Some team, called the Predators, took the game to a 2nd OT.  Here is what looks like a good site for the Hockey Mike...

Hockey teams in Nashville, Anaheim, Florida   What's this world coming too. Imagine being a kid growing up a hockey fan there and having to pay to use a commercial rink to play instead of being able to use a frozen pond. That's where Hockey starts. when I grew up we had a pond across the street we played on. I even plowed the snow off of it with my 604. 20 yrs ago that pond was filled in and there is a house on the spot now.

Craig, it's funny that you say that. There is a very small town of I believe is Podunk, Iowa pop. 6 or at least it was clear back when. The smallest town in the state. Yes Dino, Ohio has one Columbus Blue Jackets. Iowa has a triple A team out of Des Moines. How about the Toledo Walleye??? Best record in the echl, they will have home ice addvantage thru out the playoffs.

The Nashville Predators look pretty good...series now tied a 1 and 1...game 3 today (in Chicago).

I was thinking it would be "Red Solo Cup"  !!!     1 to 1...start of the 2nd period...oppps...2 to 1 Blackhawks...while I was typing this.  Here hold mY beer and watch this.    OH OH...15 seconds later...2 to 2...who do these guys think they are??? Don't they know they are playing the STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS???

OH OH...Hawks just scored again while I was typing this...3 to 2 Hawks now...this all happened  in 3 1/2 minutes into the 2nd period.  Isn't Hockey supposed to be like Soccer...0 to 0...or 1 to 0.  This is like watching Iowa play college football...how many games did they have that were 3 to 2???

Stayed up and watched the Hawks vs Predators game.  Hawks won in the 3rd OT...game ended at 1:16 Central...WOW   Hawks up 3 games to 1.

I don't know how the heck I missed this thread. Habs Sens last night, very interesting game to say the least. price giving up 5? Grid hell freeze over? Pens finally accepted their fate as a mediocre team with a slumping star, invisible star ( Malkin) and a goalie playing uncharacteristicly well. Lots on the tube tonight. Hockey Night in Canada anyone?

Can't believe the Habs didn't close out the Sens.  I'm hoping for a Habs / Black Hawks matchup. LET THE FUR FLY!

Who are the Habs??     The Hawks are on to the next round, the got past the Predators last night.  Two very good, fast teams there.  The Predators could easily be the team moving on.
