So another one sold/traded. This one went back to the guy I got it from. Good deal for both of us. I just don’t like them shiney .....so the 754 went back to Jay and I added this rusty 854. More pics of that to come.

Reason being is I asked if you wanted to back it up to the hill to load easier and you said nope...🐝🐝
And it was cold.....

I don’t know if this should be his mirror, or my mirror.. but it’s gone.  I’ve been considering getting out of commercial plowing and my wife’s boss was looking for a farm truck for less than $4k.  I offered a decent deal on my backup plow rig, a 2000 Chevy K3500.  It has a Fisher under hood pump and full hydraulics through a tractor spool valve from Northern Tool.  He paid me to put quick disconnects on the rear plow and paid full asking price.  This truck had the first snow plow I began my work with as just a teenager and it was bittersweet to see it go but if I’m serious about selling off the plowing business, I need to sell.

My wife took this picture from his work group chat text group thingy.  She promptly responded with the same picture, but “we lost a member of the family today”

Here is a quick video of the hydraulics.  Starting from the driver’s side, we have lift and drop with a float option, the center is the turn cylinders.  The lever follows the driver’s side of the plow so back is left turn and forward is right turn.  The furthest lever is for the back blade, back is down with about 3” of preload capability to keep traction and still get a good scrape and forward is lift.

Here are some more pictures of my old plow truck.  This was the last era of a bare bones truck with excellent visibility if you ask me.  The next generation starting in ‘99 had a much poorer nearby visibility with a sunk down seat and bigger hood and dash.

I’m slowly getting out of the snowplowing business after 30+ years. I started plowing parking lots at age 17 when my uncle gave me a few accounts. I used to skip school to plow snow!! Something tells me that kids don’t do that nowadays?! Eventually grew that business to five trucks, two #33,000 GVW trucks subcontracted to the local township and three one ton trucks with sanders for parking lots and private subdivisions. I’m currently down to one truck with a plow and sander and about a dozen accounts. Even though I’ve made damn good money in the business it’s blood money! Although the past two years here we’ve had hardly any snow which is unheard of. It will be a happy day in my life when I don’t HAVE TO go plow snow, for now I could still use the money. I’m looking forward to the day when I can just get on my 417-A with the cab and two stage blower, do my driveway and come back in the house and put another log on the fire 🔥 Here is me with my first truck in the winter of 86-87 back when I absolutely loved it!😂 Sorry if I got off topic!

Next was my custom built Harley. Built it in 2006 and have not ridden or registered it since 2010.

I could not sell it so I did a trade for a 2016 Honda Rubicon 500 with plow. Good deal for both of us. My bike will once again get back in the wind and the new owner is smiling ear to ear.

Next ... need to think a moment. I was caretaker of this nice 1958 Crestliner for the past few years. A buddy here on the square started the restore and lost interest. I wanted to make sure it went to someone who would finish it and the guy finally came along...

Next was one of my 520 XI machines. My cousin (cousin al) who may join here soon was using a very nice original 312-8 but wanted to own one if my 520 XI machines and this one fit the bill. This one went to cousin al and the 312 came back. No photos of the pick up since he live about 1/4 mile away and I drive it to him.

312-8 was traded for this 5 1/2’x10’ tsc trailer. It is a 2019 but was used hard by po. A little stain and gloss rusto and she matches her big brother!!
