Carburetor Problems

Recommended Posts

trentcrouch

I have a work horse 700 with a tecumseh HH100 engine. we finally got it to run for the first time this weekend. The only problem is, it shuts off after a few seconds. We are able to start it with starting fluid but it won't continue to run on its own. I ordered a carb rebuild kit. Any ideas on the problem? The carb has also been leaking from day one. The main needle valve on the bottom is where it comes from usually. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I think you are on the right track with the carb kit.

Make sure that you get the carb really clean before re-assembly, and make sure you get the float adjusted like the instructions tell you..

The Techy engines can be very tempermental on the carb adjustments.

If you need additional info, look in the manuals files here on "The Square".
