HorseHead1089 100 #1 Posted March 30, 2015 Is a 48in deck the biggest the c series can hold or is it able to hold any bigger decks? Looking to out it on a C-111 eight speed. A 60 in deck would be sweet but I know the 520 had a specail front axle for that deck
pfrederi 18,703 #2 Posted March 30, 2015 With out major modification 48" is it. Besides 11hp would be nowhere up to a 60" deck
Don1977 605 #3 Posted March 30, 2015 A 48" deck is a bit much for a C-111 better suited to a 42" or 36" deck.

tunahead72 2,548 #5 Posted March 30, 2015 42" was the largest deck Wheel Horse provided from the factory for the C-111. Check this out:
Racinbob 11,975 #6 Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) I bought a GT-1100 brand new for a song with no attachments. I figured I'd slap a larger Kohler on it when the 11hp Briggs died. I had an extra 48" deck so I put it on. At the time I was mowing several acres a week and that Briggs surprised me. It even handled the deeper stuff with no problem and I didn't have to go to a lower gear. That Briggs was still going strong 16 years later when we moved down here. bildrtom 0 #7 Posted April 2, 2015 I'm new to any site like this, so I don't know where to post a new question. I just bought an old Wheel Horse c160, model 1 03809 with a Kohler 341S engine w/ 8 speed. First I need to find the year it was made I guess - ser.# 66066. Then I need to know which operator manual to download. I also have the 05 MR4201 mower, but I haven't quite figured out how to attach it yet. Is there a manual for that. Thanks for your help
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,509 #8 Posted April 2, 2015 Welcome to the forum. Don't know what year it was built but it is a 1974 model. Usually production started prior to October the previous year. The model number is 1-0380. The 9 on the end is not used but if you subtract 5 from that 6th digit you get the model year. 9-5=4=1974. Your will see 6, 7, 8 and 9 on the attachments at the time also representing 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974. Operator manual A poor parts list and attachment list Garry Sorry - forgot the mower deck If you go into the manuals section and do a search for 05-42MR01 some links to service bulletins will come up. tarcoleo 119 #9 Posted April 3, 2015 Have a C-111 and a C-81 (identical chassies) with a Honda 11-hp and a Honda clone 13-hp, resp. There's more than enough power for the 48" decks on both -Tom
