hard to get in gear

I have a raider 12 that's hard to get in gear when running it just wants to grind when it's not running shifts fine this started when I was putting it back together after doing some painting to shine it up

a little.

:WRS: It's not a transmission problem. Your drive belt isn't stopping. Do you have the belt guard on? It has to be on. There's tabs on the guard that need to be adjusted (bent) properly. In any case you need to find out why the belt isn't stopping.  Grinding the gears is a very bad thing.
