Ed Kennell 40,637 #77 Posted June 6, 2015 Nothing left of the goose except a bare leg bone and one foot that an eaglet is flying around the nest with in her beak like it's a trophy.
AMC RULES 37,150 #78 Posted June 6, 2015 They were fighting over a rabbit pelt all yesterday afternoon...until Dad came into the nest last night and tore it to bits.

Ed Kennell 40,637 #84 Posted June 9, 2015 The Pa Game Commission stated they think an eaglet perched on the camera causing it to move. The will not attempt to reposition it as they will remove it in several weeks anyway.

rmaynard 15,938 #87 Posted June 9, 2015 Next year they need to secure the camera against poop splatter and eaglet perching.

Ed Kennell 40,637 #91 Posted June 13, 2015 Without the camera, only the dedicated watchers that camp out at the viewing site got to see the fledging. I wasn't one of them. We do have another nest that is actually about 50 yards off the edge of the baseball diamond that my grandsons use as their home field. The game Commission usually posts a no entry 600 yard perimeter around a nest, but these eagles have been nesting here for 6 years and have become accustomed to the activity, so they have not restricted access to the nest. Of course , without a camera, the eaglets can not be seen in the nest, but the adults routinely fly over the ball field carrying fish to the nest.
AMC RULES 37,150 #92 Posted June 13, 2015 So, you've had the best of both worlds Ed... watched 'em from the ground, and lived with 'em in the nest.
AMC RULES 37,150 #93 Posted June 18, 2015 So, if you go the the live stream right now...the camera, looking straight down...you see one of the eaglets out of the nest. Sitting on the big limb to the left of the screen...about 75 feet down. He's looking up at the nest as if to say...wish I was back up there, and boy...it's gonna be a long night.
Ed Kennell 40,637 #94 Posted June 30, 2015 This is a photo of the female eagle that that has nested with her mate near our Grandsons Home baseball diamond. They often fly over the field during the games.Blue skies, soaring Eagles, hot dogs, and baseball. God Bless America. Oh, we won the game tonight to continue our undefeated season. Three games to go. PaulC 342 #95 Posted July 15, 2015 I don't venture to the non tractor related section often but think im going to start. Im pretty bummed I didn't see this thread from the start, I would have loved to see the eagle activity. Cool thing for you to share Ed.
rmaynard 15,938 #96 Posted July 15, 2015 I saw it from the time the second egg cracked open and the eaglet emerged, up until the camera got knocked off kilter. By that time, the eaglets had tested their wings and kicked mom and dad out of the nest. I think the most amusing thing was when daddy eagle brought a skunk into the nest. I hope we get a chance to see next year's brood without a poop squirt directly onto the lens.
