pstlouis 20 #1 Posted March 21, 2015 My 88 520hc is having some issues in reverse. When I pull the lever back, it takes a second for it to start moving, and then it does not go very fast. It is full of fluid. It does just fine in forward, and goes like a bat out of hell. Please tell me there is an adjustment I can make, and not have a bad trans. Also, I've had ideas about swapping it out to an 8spd. I only use it for pulling things around so I'm not concerned about the loss of the lift arm. Would that be very hard to swap out? bmsgaffer 2,043 #2 Posted March 22, 2015 Its pretty involved switch. There is lots of adjustment in the linkage and cam plate to set your forward reverse and neutral. There are detailed directions in the eaton manual for making the adjustments. Doesnt sound like a bad trans.
pstlouis 20 #3 Posted March 22, 2015 Thanks, that's a big relief. Is there an Eaton manual in the manuals section on here?
WH nut 553 #5 Posted March 23, 2015 I would check the frame where it bolts to the transmission for cracks, and also under the seat pan
