Dieselcowboy 210 #1 Posted March 18, 2015 Thought I might try the easy way out and see if anyone has found a seal that will replace is one in the hyd cyl. This is a welded cyl with a bolt holding the clevis on. I did one a few weeks ago and it had an outside thread on the shaft for the clevis , using an o ring to seal the shaft. Any ideas where to get a seal for this?

Bach-Ed 164 #3 Posted March 18, 2015 O Rings and cup seals should be easy to get. Industrial suppliers like Motion iIndustries stock lots of possibilities. However, once done can you get it welded shut without burning up seals?
Dieselcowboy 210 #4 Posted March 18, 2015 It can be done, just use lower heat and cool down with water. I also used a tub of water and air to check for pin holes.
ol550 829 #5 Posted March 18, 2015 I'm thinkin ya should of cut the other end off to keep the heat away from the seals when reassembling.
Dieselcowboy 210 #6 Posted March 18, 2015 The one I did previously was done the same way. I my have just had luck but it's not leaking a drop. That end toward the chrome is a lot thicker than you think as well.
