linen beige 15 #1 Posted October 30, 2008 Today's their fourth birthday! We had a party for them saturday. A bunch of kids (and some of the adults) turned loose in a gymnastics facility. Trampolines, a big pit full of foam pads, etc. Too much fun. They don't know it yet, but they are getting big girl bicycles tonight.

jerrell 1 #3 Posted October 30, 2008 :omg: Hey jim be thankful you have many years left for them to be home, i just lost my 23 yr old daughter, she lived at home thru HS, college, and then got a job, then she got an apartment, and like it is supposed to be i see less and less of her, as she makes her own life and don't get to see that smileing face every morning, yeah , they do grow up fast, ,,, i wish i could grow older slower, compared to them getting older sooner.. the only saving grace i have now is a 11 yr son, the politician or lawer, never met a stranger in his life and is an information sponge, (he didn't get that from me) with me being 67 , i know the time is going to pass to soon and he will grow up and leave the nest also, not something i am looking forward to...BUT i am so proud that god gave me this time to be with both of them, TAKE CARE OF THEM NOW FOR TO SOON THEY GROW THEIR OWN WINGS AND WILL FLY AWAY... jerry disn't mean to make this an unhappy post, just suffering from the empty nest syndrone... those are truely two beautiful children, i don't know about that old man holding them tho..... :USA:

DOC in Kentucky 178 #5 Posted October 31, 2008 You do look aweful proud Jim and that is an awesome pic. I have 4 grandkids and my 4 year old grandson is all about tractors. I love both my kids, but grandkids are really special. A good friend once told me, " If I knew then what I know now, I would've had the grandkids first" and I have to agree!!!! linen beige 15 #6 Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks guys. I am proud of them! They are the most fun I have ever had. They only got to ride their new bikes for about half an hour before it got dark, but they were a hit. And Jerrell I know what you mean about them leaving. My oldest daughter is now 20 and in college. I haven't actually layed eyes on her since Easter and she has no idea how much I miss her. Too busy making her mark on the world. I'm pretty proud of her too.
