snow blower fitment

Recommended Posts

I just picked this 32" up the other day for only $40. I got it to put on my commando 8. unfortunatly the model tag is gone so I guessed that would fit when I purchaced it. After looking on here through different threads I came up with the conclusion that it may be for a lawn ranger due to the straight mounting bracket. Would this be as easy as locating the correct mounting bracket and installing? It is also missing the clutch rod and idler.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Also if anyone knows where I could find the Parts I need for this that would be awesome too!

Thanks

Damon

It definitely was for a Lawn Ranger, but someone has also added the rod across the back of the mounting bracket so it could be used with the front Attach-Matic hitch on later models.
You could heat & bend (or notch, bend, & weld) the bracket to fit your Commando ~ after you remove the rod at the rear and redrill the mounting holes.

The belt disengagement rod should be easy to make if you can't find one. If you need a pattern and no one beats me to it, I have one of those throwers here somewhere, but it's buried in snow at the moment.

The idler assembly is also easily fabbed. I'll post pictures as soon as I find them.

Found them:

I have almost every part you need because I modified a blower off of a Commando 8 to work on my 310-8. I've attached a few pics of the items. The idler pulley was still attached to the Commando and was sold to another buyer.

1. Mounting bolt to frame

2. Mounting Bracket (with a few extra holes from premature modifications)

3. Clutch rod with knob

Here are the most recent pics of the parts I have. On the mounting bracket I marked the modifications that were made. If you are interested I can weld over the extra holes.
