AMC RULES 36,955 #26 Posted February 12, 2015 Is there a Tecumseh decal on the tins, up, under the hood. Can we see it please? If that's an original, aluminum block H-60.... you want to be very careful with that engine.
Live4outdoors 151 #27 Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Is there a Tecumseh decal on the tins, up, under the hood. Can we see it please? If that's an original, aluminum block H-60.... you want to be very careful with that engine. Of course you can see what's left of them...yes, that is the original h60 untouched, hasn't fired in about a year though, so almost ready to do that...but maybe I should listen if you have something to say about them, I know they're rare and parts are getting to be impossible... AMC RULES 36,955 #28 Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) I know the one H sixties are the Techy time bombs everyone talks about. Have you changed the oil in it yet...what'd it look like? Edited February 13, 2015 by AMC RULES
Live4outdoors 151 #29 Posted February 13, 2015 Actually didn't even change it cause it looked almost new with a clear brown color, tried it tonight and fired right off once I got the fuel flowing through the gascolator! can't believe my luck lately! It runs a slight bit rough and leaks on the bottom screw at the bowl but for sitting over a year not running and firing right off I can't be happier! Might tear into the carb this weekend. I will post the final pictures once I get the wheels all cleaned up! Thanks for all the comments and thoughts everyone, you talked me into the right decision
AMC RULES 36,955 #30 Posted February 13, 2015 Baby that Lil' Techy... just my be the last one still running, known to man. What ever you do, don't let the Squonk anywhere near it.
Live4outdoors 151 #31 Posted February 13, 2015 Just curious, don't you have one of these that runs? I've seen wonderful pictures throughout here of an all original 653 you owned. Makes mine look rough anyways...
AMC RULES 36,955 #32 Posted February 13, 2015 Mine has the replacement short block, a white double H-60.
Live4outdoors 151 #33 Posted February 14, 2015 Ohhhh.......maybe I should cherish her! Was planning on cultivating with this one. Hmmm Wheels scrubbed and cultivator test fit...STILL NEED SOMEONE TO HELP WITH THE LIFT ARM DIMENSIONS THAT ARE MISSING. Mine with lift arm locked back and cultivator tight to the frame it has to be 13 1/2 from pin to pin, that doesn't work with others thoughts of 9 3/4 pin to pin.

AMC RULES 36,955 #36 Posted February 14, 2015 Don't think I'd work that Techy too hard... I would repaint that fuel tank though.
Live4outdoors 151 #37 Posted February 15, 2015 Paint the fuel tank. I love the two tone look of the metal tank. I am however considering the painted rims when I said I wouldnt, only thing I'm on the fence about, anyone have pics of patina tractors and fresh paint on the rims? Would like to see this concept first, just afraid it won't match the old look...
