mailman 1 #1 Posted October 26, 2008 The gauge in my C100 rear end came broken. There was no rod connected to it to check the level of oil. Two questions. One, is it possible the rod broke and has slipped inside and will do damage or has done damage? Also, can I use the gauge from my B-80 rear to check level in my C100 rear? TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #2 Posted October 26, 2008 IF the dipstick is inside the transmission, it COULD get caught under the ring gear on the differential, but chances are it would just get pushed out of the way. The stick from your B-80 should be identical - but measure the tube height on the top of the trans case to verify. You can also remove the pipe plug from the lower left rear corner of the transmission and check the oil level. It should be up to the bottom edge of the hole when full.
