Nathanielperz 150 #1 Posted January 11, 2015 Hi everyone! I am in a bit of a sticky situation here. As some of you may or may not know I am taking my tractor to the Auto Body Shop at my school so they can paint it for me. They said that they would rather have it put together when it arrives at the school for painting... I got the tires on the tranny and the tranny on the frame and the front axle on the frame along with the front tires... The issue I am having is putting the hoodstand back together... Now before you guys ask or yell at me... I DID TAKE PICURES!!! The problem is I didn't back them up on my computer and my phone's SD card was corrupted and I lost them.... So I have no idea how it goes back together. Are there and "instructions" on how to put it back together? I have the original manual and it has a parts manual that sort of pictures how it all goes together but it is EXTREMELY hard to follow... Please help me out with this!!! Thanks in advance, Nate
Martin 2,133 #2 Posted January 11, 2015 Nate, some of my rebuilds use a similar assembly as yours. the 875 is probably the closest. check out these threads for pics, im sure there would be enough for you to work it out..... start here for the 875... heres another that might help, 1057 slightly different than the hydro hood stand but you can get the general idea of how it goes back together...... Martin 2,133 #4 Posted January 11, 2015 Nate, just my opinion here and its your tractor to do as you wish, but if you are talking about the 1276 that made it on the front of the calendar, I gotta say im sad to know you are painting it. that tractor had some mighty fine personality in its original guise and your making me sad just knowing its going to be lost forever....... but like I said its yours to do as you wish, im just putting my opinion out there. tell me to mind my own business if you want..... KC9KAS 4,744 #5 Posted January 11, 2015 They going to paint it all at once? Will there be unpainted surfaces mated to other unpainted surfaces? I see the beginning of rust at those areas..
chazm 413 #6 Posted January 11, 2015 Just my $.02 but if they aren't taking the time to prep, prime & paint each piece. Its going to be an Earl Schibe paint job .....
Nathanielperz 150 #7 Posted January 11, 2015 I primed and clear coated each part even the parts where it will be metal on metal... If I did it correctly there should be no rusting here :D Nate, just my opinion here and its your tractor to do as you wish, but if you are talking about the 1276 that made it on the front of the calendar, I gotta say im sad to know you are painting it. that tractor had some mighty fine personality in its original guise and your making me sad just knowing its going to be lost forever....... but like I said its yours to do as you wish, im just putting my opinion out there. tell me to mind my own business if you want..... Its a little late Martin its already mostly primed!
