Maybe someone can help IDing a dozer blade

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone, I bought a old 42in snow/dozer blade that fits my 1976 B80.

The Index Lever that changes the angle of the blade is different than all the ones

that I looked at in the manual section. There is "no hole" for an eye bolt that holds

the upper index rod. A wire goes from the handle to the Index Plate that changes

the angle of the blade. I want to make sure the handle setup is right. All the 42in

blades I looked at don't resemble this handle.

  • Can you post a picture or two of the handle?  That would help  in IDing!

Index handle should look like this one...

The OFFSET is only about 2"... Not 6 (or more)as his pic shows.

You're right this handle must have came from a different company and was painted to match.

You also were close on the offset it's 5in. And if it wasn't for the offset the index handle look

the same the lever and bolts to the frame. That is what threw me off. Thanks for your help.

I'll have to find out how much a used one would cost..

You can cut the offset down and weld the assembly to fit your need(s).  :laughing-rofl:

I've changed many of these handles as required.

Would like to Thank all of you. After examining the handle closely I was able to see the mounting screw hole

was drilled to fit. Then they painted and placed a identical lever to make it look original. Thanks to you for

making me look closer.
