boovuc 1,090 #7 Posted January 4, 2015 Thank you Jim! You nailed it right on the head! Maybe the minor league of the NFL is down this year!? I'm not a big Urban "Legend" Meyer fan, (PSU :roll:PSU), but it's nice to see there are other conferences that appear to be affiliated with the NCAA. Now with an ex-NFL "cry-baby" coach in Michigan, it will be interesting as to how the recruiting goes in the Big10. I may never see PSU back in the limelight again with this much recruiting competition and the @#&%ing sanctions that all but put the Nittany Lions in critical condition thanks to a scum bag like Sandusky, the NCAA governing board and the PSU Board of trustees that all hated Joe Paterno. (That old man didn't know anything...period). Just real glad the SEC came up empty! It's a shame JoePa never lived to see what he preached about for decades. A real NCAA top Division Playoff.
JimD 3,347 #8 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Thanks Boo, while I'm riding a Buckeye high at the moment we both know all too well how fickle the NCAA and the Big 10 can be. Hard to believe still that one man can bring a proud University and football program to its knees the way Sandusky did. But, I have to say though I'm not a Penn State fan I am proud of the way they have persevered the adversity they have faced. Make no mistake, they are on their way back and will be a force to be reckoned with. As for recruiting, Bowl wins and Championships do more to attract the top players to a school than any budget. The big budget will do more to hire a competent staff than anything else. Jim Harbaugh has an A-game, and he WILL bring it. That said, only time will tell if he can be as effective as Urban "The Legend" Meyer has been. The next several years in the Big 10 should be exciting to say the least.
