compatability question, need answer fast

Will implements(snowblower and rototiller)for a 314-8 work on a C-161? I have a chance to pick up a C161 and want to know if my existing impliments will work on it. Im on the road for work and dont have the time to so the research

Yes they will work. Basically the same tractor. Just different fender pan, hood and hood stand. I change attachments all the time from 141 and a 314.

Just found out that the tractor has been repowerd with a new BS 18hp engine...is this a problem

I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker but it does hurt some. Hopefully the Briggs fit without chopping the sheetmetal. If a quality job was done on the transplant it will be fine. Maybe down the road you can get a Kohler for it.

If the tractor is in decent shape I don't think that's a bad price. It's really hard to say without seeing it.

If the engine was installed with the PTO in the same location their won't be a problem. If not you might need different length drive belts. I don't know what the PTO heigth is on a

C-161. I installed a Vanguard 18 HP in my C-120 and used original belts. I had to raise the engine 7/8" to get the PTO at the right height.

that's a c161 twin originally came with a16 hp briggs so it's an up grade to an 18 hp

Never came about. I was in another state on business and had the means to transport the tractor home. Just couldn't make mine and the seller's schedule click...maybe next time
