gsummers 236 #1 Posted November 1, 2014 Hello, I was helping my Dad today with his 312-8 we recently got, I pulled of the shroud to clean out mouse debris, found that the plug wire was in very bad shape, insulation cracked all the way through. Someone in the past had tried to patch it, they didn`t do a very good job. I was reading some posts about replacing it. Does the wire just pull out of the coil and a new one is pushed back in and sealed? Kohler Magnum12, 1990.
Lane Ranger 10,530 #2 Posted November 2, 2014 I have not replaced a plug wire on a Magnum but I think you need to replace the whole coil to make sure you have a very good wire connection. Youtube has a video of a Kohler motor being repaired with this problem but it is a vertical motor.
