cgambino1018 21 #1 Posted October 30, 2014 I recently purchased a used wheel horse 312-8 1989. its has a 42inch deck model 1542sc01. I purchased new blades - Blade kit 106636 THE left and right blades fit.. the center blade i had to cut down about 1/8 of an inch (each side) in order to make it fit (not hit guild walls). after first cut you can see the center blade is wrong/ wobbling. the grass in the middle of the deck is cut much lower. how do i fix this? different blades? Thanks Chris
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,531 #2 Posted October 30, 2014 106636 is the correct set of blades for the 15-42SC01. Garry
pfrederi 17,174 #3 Posted October 30, 2014 I wonder if someone had swapped out a spindle in the past and used the wrong one for a replacement. Do all three look alike (except the center having 2 pulleys?) Is the deck itself solid around the center pulley no rust holes or deformation?
cgambino1018 21 #4 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Took the spindle off last night..its worse than I expected. a) the spindle is broken at the points where the bolt goes in but still may be workable. the deck is bent (pushed down) right on top of a bolt hole c) where the bolt hole is, where its pushed down there is also a crack on the deck. d) the spacer on the top of the deck that the spindle goes into is bent. will try to upload pics once i figure out how.. Do i go for a new deck or first try a new spindle and hammer out the deck to make it flat again? uuuurrrrghhhh Chris Edited October 31, 2014 by cgambino1018

slammer302 2,154 #6 Posted October 31, 2014 Sometimes the center spindle will bend from the PTO belt being adjusted real tight it will pull the spindle forward and if the deck is weak already it makes for a bad comnation I think you can save ur deck
