chipwitch 73 #1 Posted October 17, 2014 Title says it all, but to clarify... I'm making a 3 ph. My lift arms will have ball joint (spherical bearing) rod ends welded to both ends. I'm making the pins to be welded to the mount and implements, but wasn't sure what diameter to make them. I don't have the rod ends yet, they're in the mail. I know they're 5/8", but I don't know what diameter to make the pins. Is .010 under too loose? Too tight? I would think .002" under would be plenty clearance, but if they're too tight, they'll be a little harder to put back on the lathe after welding them to the mount!
