Need help identifying hydraulic port

Recommended Posts

I have a 1 spool 4/3 valve and am having trouble identifying the thread.  I have a great pdf file from discounthydraulichose and even chatted with one of their reps for about 30 minutes to no avail.

First off, it's a 5/8-18 straight female thread.  Not metric. Not tapered.  I am certain.  There are no identifying marks on the valve.  No machined face, chamfers or seats of any kind.  Though, there is a 45 degree funnel at the bottom of the port... down almost a full inch; too far to be a seat.  I figure it's just the narrowing before entering the spool chamber, which I can see just beyond.

Anyone know of anything like this.  Proprietary?  I can't see how it will get a good seal without a machined seat somewhere.  This valve was something I got at an auction.  It was hobbled together with a hydraulic power  unit and what looks like it might be a hydraulic hose crimper, oddly enough.
