I have wondered what it would cost to have a set of weights made like yours! chipwitch 73 #15 Posted October 11, 2014 Those are really nice weights. Very sharp. I've thought about making my own, but the cost of steel is about what you could get the cast weights for use. Each And thank you all. It wouldn't be possible without my Dad. tbarnhart 240 #23 Posted October 12, 2014 Awesome weights. I was curious how thick they are. I made something similar in a different way. We have a large fabrication shop nearby that keeps thick plate and has the equipment to cut any shape. I went to them and bought 2 circles 11.5 in. in diameter that were 1 in thick and 2 that were 10 in. in diameter and 2.75 in thick. I centered the smaller/thicker ones on the larger ones and welded them together, then welded four 3/8 bolts to the back at the right spacing to match the holes in the wheels. They weigh a little over 90 pounds and sit about flat with the outside of the wheel. I think they look a little odd with just a flat surface and thought about some sort of logo decal, but it would probably just get scratched off. The 160 is more stable and will pull the plow or grade the drive like never before. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
