if not using the pto, just about any single cyl diesel will work.

I'm waiting to hear how these 22hp Harbor Freight engines are from someone I trust. It sounds like a pretty good deal but at 700 bucks I don't really consider it a throw away engine, Parts NEED to be available. If the Onan in my 520 or one of my KT17's grenade something like this could be an option...

I was wondering the same thing and was watching these guys but due to EPA they do not bring over engines at this time.

To do a diesel swap in a 520 what size engine would get the same result as the original 20 HP Onan ?

a 20 HP diesel ?

Just wondering.

That 13 hp diesel would have been pretty close to equal in torque with the Onan. Man, I waited too long as I was going to do just that.

Has anyone seen the 22hp twin at Harbor Freight? It is a myth around here.

I just checked the Carroll Stream website. Their two 10 hp diesels are EPA approved. Plus I noticed that the prices have gone up.
