help my first wheel horse

I bought my first wheel horse today it is a c 81 with a 10 horse kholer engine I think I was a sucker I bought it for 400 dollars and put a battrie in it and it is getting no fire to the spark plug can Andy one help me diagnose why its not getting fire

Dirty points, bad coil, blown fuse, or some bad wires take a hot wire to the negative side of the coil and then see if it gets spark and if it does work form there.

Like AMC said, I always go for the points first before I even bother looking at anything else. Most of the time they just need a touch up with a points file and it's off and running.  :)

WH nut

Do not run a hot wire to the neg side of coil. Go to the Pos side. You will let the smoke out of the wire if you run it to the negative side.

I cleaned the points and then it was not getting Andy fuel took the bowel off and the float the needle valve was stuck put back together and she fired right up thanks for all the advice

make sure the points are set at a certain distance apart I think its .20
