KC9KAS 4,741 #2 Posted September 14, 2014 In an earlier post, I told you to run a hydro at full throttle, but now we want to try to check out the govenor. Find a tree or very solid oblect. using an old tire (no rim) put it between the object and the front of the GT. Have it about 1/2 to 2/3 throttle and SLOWLEY move forwards to the solid object. Once the tractor make contact, the govenor should open the throttle wide open. This is also the way to check your hydro.....If the wheels spin all is well with the hydro. You may need assistance with the tree/tire thing, but I was trying to help you NOT damage the tree or the front of the GT-14. A 1969 has the plastic fuel tank exposed in the front and you sure don't want to damage that. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
