Sparky-(Admin) 23,327 #2 Posted September 8, 2014 Cheap or inexpensive......big difference (in quality). I've always wanted to do a diesel swap with a WH, I'll be interested what the guys have to say. Mike........

CasualObserver 3,411 #5 Posted September 8, 2014 Read through this review from several years ago. Steve is quite analytic when he reviews something, and he did a swap with a 10HP. And yes... 6HP would be more than enough for a B-80.

SALTYWRIGHT 861 #7 Posted September 8, 2014 I HAVE DONE TWO DIESEL REPOWERS. ONE WAS A 10 H/P IN A 417-8. THE NEXT ONE IS A 6 H/P IN A 1054. BOTH HAVE BEEN VERY NICE AND EASY TO DO.THEY BOTH HAVE MORE POWER THAN BEFORE AND ALOT OF FUN. RUSS

fireman 1,022 #9 Posted September 9, 2014 I got lucky and found an NOS real Yanmar 6 hp Diesel on Craigslist for $400.00 and transplanted into a Lawn Ranger. (see link) Don't let the lower hp worry you. The 6 hp diesel is probably the equivelant of at least a 10 hp gas engine. The torque is just amazing. The "China" diesels are very easy to find and seem to be just as good as the Yammers'. I have seen both of the tractors that Russ transplanted and can tell you they turned out awesome! The diesels can be found on Ebay or the company Jason posted the link for above. Another great thing is that they sip diesel fuel. I have a 1 gallon tank on mine and can drive that thing around all day long and not go through it.
546cowboy 302 #10 Posted September 10, 2014 Here is my gas to diesel swap done out of necessity. What could I do? You cannot find one of those 32 hp. Renault motors and the skid steer was under powered any way. If you think it costs too much to put a 10 hp. in a Wheel Horse, well you don't want to know what it cost me to put that 51hp. Kubota in this thing or the mods I had to come up with.
