rick 217 #9 Posted September 9, 2014 Nice and bright! I have been thinking about equipping my 314-8 snow plow tractor with Whelen Vertex LED's. My driveway is long and private, but I want plenty of visibility when I have open up the entrance to the two lane blacktop. Some of the younger fellows like to stretch the envelope in their lifted 4x4s. I have some surplus clear units, but really want amber. Front and rear, of course! Icepuck72 41 #10 Posted September 10, 2014 Nice and bright! DO it!! Are you selling any of those Vertexs by chance??? I'm looking into Feniex Cannons, but if the Whelens are cheap I'll buy em.
Icepuck72 41 #11 Posted September 10, 2014 Nice job, and talk about bright,,,,, what did you use? How did you mount? A couple daytime pics would be sweet. Glenn I used Whelen LEDs. The reds are TIR3, the amber in the middle is a LIN3. I drilled a small hole to put the wires through (there are 4 of them), used silicon to mount them to the body. Works like a charm. I haven't wired them up all the way...just wanted to set the flash patterns and see how they looked. Here, I tapped into the taillights. I will be hooking all 3 up together in the rear, then take a positive and negative and running it up to the headlights. Just the easiest and most room to work with. I'm also looking for some par 36 LED headlights...but so expensive!!!
