Adding a new item to the basement menu this week for all you Illinois and Northwestern fans. I think they're quite a bargain. You can get 55 of them for 14 dollars :ychain:

I was doing the math and figured out that Iowa and Northwestern are responsible for 7 of my 21 losses...so far this season.  That is 1/3 or 33.3%.  I'm 50/50 with Northwestern...4 wins and 4 losses.  I have actually done better with Iowa...5 wins and 3 losses.  You would think that I could figure this out...and I would think so also...until I looked at the games for next week.  Iowa is at Minnesota and Michigan is at Northwestern.  Give me a break... :bow-blue:  Put that with Ohio St. at Michigan St. next week and I think we will finally see some movement in the standings.  The other 2 games are Penn St. at Indiana and Wisconsin at Purdue...so we all will get at least 2 wins next week. :)

My congratulations to Jackhammer and Horsefixer for their Perfect Slates this week...those 2 and myself were the only ones to pick Maryland over Penn St.. :orcs-cheers:

I usually wait for the Vegas odds to help me out some but they aren't out yet. With my record I don't figure I could do any more damage by just winging it.

Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State

A wild game for the Irish last night but it didn't surprise me. When those two get together it's almost always entertaining. What a great rivalry! Arizona State this week!

Go Irish!!!!

Bob, I put those games in a day early just to get it done this week...pretty busy week.  You can reserve the right to change your  picks up until game time...and I would change about 4 of them at this point,. :ychain:   :)

Thanks Steve but ask Rob what happens when you change your picks :) The way I figure it, I'm not doing so well with my usual method so why not change things up.

Wait a minute.......change 4 picks?? :eek::violence-blades:

That is a tough one John. I'm guessing less than a 3 point spread. Looking at their schedules I just felt like MSU played a bit tougher non-conference opponents. We'll see if Steve picks Northwestern next week  :eusa-whistle:

More than likely, he's probably going to hide next week also because I don't think his "other" team that he pulls for,is going to get a thumpin' after they dump Minnesota. Iowa finishes out the month with Minnesota, Illinois Wisonsin and Nebraska. They have two away games and finish with at Home for two. I'm hoping it was a long restful week for them. They've got a long battle ahead but, This is IOWA football!!! As always, Go Hawkeyes!!!

Steve - well, if you remember, my first week of picks, started off with 3 losses right away. I had somehow overlooked the picks. Instant loss. Then it just got worse, Each time I picked Iow or Northwestern to win, becasue they were the favorded team, they would not come through. Add to it, (2) new teams that nobody really watched or cared about i the past. You have a great combination for some terrible picks.... No excues though, it's football!

The odds are posted. My SWAG picks were almost spot on (not that it means anything) with the exception of Northwestern being 1 point favorites. I don't always go with the favorites and with it being a home game for Northwestern (puttycats? :teasing-poke:) they could pull it off. I'll stick with my gut feeling on that one. I do like donuts :)

Bob, the more I look at your picks. I have to believe that the visiting teams are going to walk in and take the cake except for one, I'll take MSU over OSU. That's it in a nutshell!!!! As always, Go Hawkeyes!!!

I don't think Chris has been feeding Dino on a regular basis. I've heard he's looking pretty Hungry these days. We all Know how a hungry Dino can be! Go Hawkeyes!!!

There are a couple really scary games this week.......

Iowa at Minn..... This is a bad recipe for Iowa... Why? They just came off a HUGE win. Coach needs to get them settled down again for a very tough game against a WELL rested Minnesota. Both teams are 6-2 in the conference. Minnesota has nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to win if they win out the season. You are talking a very nice bowl game if Minnesota wins out. Granted, I do not see it happening after the Iowa game since they draw back to bakc games with OSU and Nebraska. But this team is hungry for some respcet in the B1G Conference. It's a little early for me to make a solid pick, but right now I am leaning in favor of Iowa.

Next up Michigan at Northwestern....... Well, let's see, Northwestern just came off of the worst beating they have seen this year. Beating, more like a royal a$$ whooping! They are due for a BIG win. Especially with the talent that they do have. They just have not been able to hit on all cylinders. Which brings me to Michigan..... Desperation is setting in for the Wolverines. They had an ok game against Indiana. Indiana has lost its 2 top QB's now to injuries... So no real sense of who is leading the offense. To say Michigan has it together now for the rest of the season, no way... Currently Northwestern is getting my early vote, but practice time, will tell the tale of who is getting my final vote come Friday.

Finally..... OSU vs. MSU..... This is the matchup of the season for the B1G Conference..... Both teams have not looked back since their early loss in the season. OSU did avoid upset at PSU with a double OT victory.... Don't even say anything about the calls... It is over and done. PSU stadium is comparable to OSU stadium for the visiting team. Not to mention the PSU defense is still ranked in the top 10. Very impressive..... MSU did not really take care of business on their last game. Only scoring 35 points and allowing Michigan to score 11.... I realize this is a state rivalry that is almost as impressive as Michigan vs. OSU..... MSU should have been able to add more points than that to the boards. They did not capitalize on some turn overs and had a couple opportunities to convert 3rd downs, and should have, but did not.... MSU is coming off a rested week, OSU is hitting on all cylinders, and this is going to be a VERY tough pick....

Just my thoughts on this weeks games... It is clear about 1 thing. There is NOTHING CLEAR WITH THE B1G CONFERENCE this year! :laughing-rofl:  :laughing-rofl:

OK...after reading the "tea" leaves and staring into the flames from the candles, plus 1 mind expanding brownie...my whole collection of dinosaurs is facing me patiently, and wondering what I will pick.  Well the wait is over, and so are the Doritos...I kind of like the home field advantage with the Big 10 Conference when possible...I just have a feeling about Ohio St. though.  Ohio St or Michigan St.=who ever has the ball last.  :)  The real question is...can Penn St. beat Indiana?? :ychain: The game is not in "Happy Valley" .  :)

PENN ST, MINNESOTA, WISCONSIN, NORTHWESTERN, OHIO ST.
