Another snow blower question

Does anyone use the lift assist spring with a hydro lift? I know I don't need it, just curious if anyone used it.

I don't use the spring but do you mind if I ask you a question? I just got a blower to hook to my 312-h. I have noticed then when I fully lower it the flag detatches from the lifting rod. I wasn't sure if there should be something like a spring holding them together or not. Any ideas?

You don't need the spring but it'll make lifting it much easier. Sounds like you need a spacer on the end of the lift bar where the flag goes in, not uncommon from what I hear. Here's a pic of the lift assist spring.

Nothing holds them together.  You may have the flag in the wrong lift arm hole.  :)

I don't use one.  Some flags have a place for a spring hookup and some don't.

Thanks, wasn't sure if it would help the wear and tear on the hydro.

The only real wear issue I have seen with the blowers is the front bearings and wheels.   I wouldn't tote that thing around no more than necessary.  I bought a c145 that had the blower mounted to it for many years and both front wheels had a split in the hub.
