SpillerMiller 10 #1 Posted August 10, 2014 Im goingbto keep it short and sweet. What is this switch far and what does it do? Theres nothing in the manual I printed off and it doesn't seem to make any difference whether its on or off while operating tractor and pto clutch. Thank you in advance
Sparky-(Admin) 23,147 #2 Posted August 11, 2014 What engages your PTO now?? A manual lever? Maybe the electric clutch bit-the-dust and someone put a manual setup on it but left the switch in the dash ? What tractor are we talkin about here. Mike........... SpillerMiller 10 #3 Posted August 11, 2014 C-160 automatic. And yes, it does have a manual lever on it. But it looks stock. It is exactly like my old mans set up on his C-120 manual that I used growing up. - Ethan
SpillerMiller 10 #4 Posted August 11, 2014 There are two prongs on the back side of that switch. One side has a wire and it runs to the ignition, but the other one doesn't have a wire on it. And I dont know where ots should end up
Don1977 605 #5 Posted August 11, 2014 Some one put it there for some other use, may have been extra lights. It should have a blank plug in that hole with a manual clutch.
SpillerMiller 10 #6 Posted August 11, 2014 I do not know. I think I'm the third owner and the person before me had the mechanical skills of a 5 year old girl who wants to grow up to be a princess. I'd go through what I've had to fix on this beast, but I dont want to waste your time and possibly make some of you sick to your stomachs.
SpillerMiller 10 #7 Posted August 11, 2014 My personal favorite is he apparently tried to fix his leaky axle by cutting an 1 1/8" in a pvc cap and then just slide it over the axle... I honestly dont know what his plan was.
boovuc 1,090 #8 Posted August 11, 2014 That's no way to fix a leaky axle. He should have used old rubber gloves and duct tape! If that switch has a wire to the ignition but nothing on the other side of the terminal, it goes nowhere and operates nothing. You should be alright leaving it as it is. SpillerMiller 10 #9 Posted August 11, 2014 That was my thought exactly. It isnt hurting anything, I was just curious
