rmaynard 16,379 #4 Posted July 1, 2014 Typically, there is no way to seal the governor. However, under normal circumstance there should be no reason for oil to be coming out at that spot. As mentioned above, check your breather to be sure the drain hole is not plugged, and that the plate with the reed valve is installed correctly. A blocked breather will cause oil to come out in the most unusual places. The carburetor has to be removed to check the breather, so while you have the breather off, it might be a good time to check your valve clearances. If you have oil coming out of the governor hole, you probably have oil coming out around the points as well.
