1966 - 854. REAR TIRE SIZE / CHOICE

Recommended Posts

JERSEYHAWG / Glenn

ok guys, I am at the point to order new tires for the 854 me and the kids are doing the "re fresh" on.

The front tires will be a ribbed tire, not positive which one yet. The boys want to plow with it.

For the rear, AG tire is first choice. Now the question I need help with.

Do I have to go with the 6-12 size on the stock rim? Or can I install a differant/bigger tire to have a little more beefy look in the rear? I am worried about clearances and such. If I can do a bigger tire size, what do you fellas recommend size wise?

Thanks again, me the novice.

Glenn

I would look for bigger rims if you want to put 8.50 ags on the tractor. I would leave the narrow rims and tires alone . Put some chains on and use them for when the kids want to push some snow around. My sons 854 ain't great with the ags only when pushing snow, its almost useless if its his weight on the tractor. i have the tri ribs on the front of his 854 and they really help, and they look cool.
