Wh416H 24 #1 Posted May 25, 2014 I have a 416-H with a brinly plow It would lift earlier and now I have to pull up on it to get it to come up all the way. Could it be the oil is getting hot and getting thinned out to much
squonk 39,045 #3 Posted May 25, 2014 When was the oil changed last? You may want to try Mobil

Wh416H 24 #8 Posted May 26, 2014 The hydraulic lift cylinder doesn't seem to be leaking
leeave96 487 #9 Posted May 29, 2014 Did you put a new filter on? How is the fluid level, sometimes these hydros can be a bit trifling to refill. I would recommend the Toro tranny filter (I believe it to be a true hydro filter) and Mobile 1 synthetic, 10w-30 oil.
Wh416H 24 #10 Posted May 29, 2014 I used a toro filter and 10w- 30 oil. I'm thinking of rebuild the lift cylinder
KyBlue 652 #11 Posted May 29, 2014 Does it lift without the weight of the Plow? When it goes all the way up and the plow isn't all the way up - Is the Lift Cylinder Fully closed? I'm wondering if the lift cable has stretched ...
Wh416H 24 #12 Posted May 30, 2014 When the plow is up all the way the cylinder is closed all the way it has to be the cylinder or the valve is shot
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,531 #13 Posted May 30, 2014 Lift valve and cylinder manual Garry
KyBlue 652 #14 Posted May 30, 2014 When the plow is up all the way the cylinder is closed all the way it has to be the cylinder or the valve is shot My money is on the linkage and the small braided cable that's lifting that heavy plow having stretched. If the cylinder is fully actuating, then it isn't the cylinder. If it wasn't fully closing them yeah I'd suspect a Hydro system issue. Check the simple things first before you year into the lift cylinder...
Wh416H 24 #15 Posted May 30, 2014 No the plow is up all the way I have to pull up on the plow to get it to lift it I have to help it lift it
KyBlue 652 #16 Posted May 31, 2014 Okay I didn't read your initial post that way, I read it as that it'd lift it just not fully. Before you rebuild anything, might want to have the pressures tested ... call a local hydraulic shop and talk with them. Might have to bring the unit in to them and let them put some gauges in line to see what is going on. Hope it's a simple fix ..

dtallon 320 #18 Posted October 27, 2014 Curious if you ever got to the bottom of this one. I went to a plow day this weekend with my C-160 and after a couple rounds I had to pull up on the plow manually to get it lift. Once raised it would hold it there. After sitting a while it worked normal again. I also wondered if it was related to oil temperature. Dave
Wh416H 24 #19 Posted October 28, 2014 Never did but I have noticed when my mower deck is up it bleeds off I'm going to rebuild the hydraulic cylinder
