Sparky-(Admin) 23,170 #2 Posted April 27, 2014 You'll love it, they chuck snow like crazy. One thing I noticed is that the side wings are mounted backwards on yours, undo 6 bolts and you can have em on right. Mike...........

RMCIII 838 #12 Posted April 28, 2014 Nice score... You will be very pleased with the performance of the single stage..... Mike, I think it is a your preferance, on how you want the side wings mounted.... I was told they mount them that way to draw additional snow into the auger and allow you to run the snow blower along things like fences and houses, without having to worry about scraping your tractor up... This does give it 6" or so of additional width, on each side, to ensure the blower get "curb rash" and not the tractor.....
cod 121 #13 Posted April 28, 2014 Nice looking thrower and the only suggestion I'd offer is that when you mount it to your tractor, keep an eye on the pin you attach the lift rod to. I made the mistake of not checking mine and this past winter I wore mine ( the pin )down to the hole the cotter pin goes through. As a first time user it never occured to me to check it and I think it happened as a result lowering the adjusting wheels too much to improve getting the snow off my driveway. This summer I'll have to take it to a weld shop and see if they can add metal to the pin or perhaps mount a new one but this time I'll turn the pin upwards and keep it away from the pavement. Good luck - Cod
dewdew 10 #14 Posted April 28, 2014 I have the same blower. I love it. You guys think that guide wheels are the way to go? Rather than the guide plates.
RMCIII 838 #15 Posted April 28, 2014 Squonk can answer that one, but I would have to say yes to the wheels vs. skids. RC

squonk 43,844 #17 Posted April 28, 2014 I have a gravel drive hence the wheels. Skids will dig in Ito anything. Saves the grass some too.

PMaine 31 #20 Posted April 29, 2014 Nice score. I found one in CT today for cheap money looks brand new, debating on buying it and selling mine (although nothing wrong with mine) I must have caught the sickness.
squonk 43,844 #21 Posted April 29, 2014 Can you buy the wheel guides?I made mine.Took some plate and copied the standard slots, welded a bolt for an axle. Got some wheels from TSC and drilled holes in the bolts for cotter pins
RMCIII 838 #22 Posted April 29, 2014 Mike: Any chance of fabricating another set???? What would the price be? RC
cod 121 #23 Posted April 30, 2014 why cant you drill a hole where the pin was and put a bolt through it to the lift? Interesting idea and thanks for the suggestion. My main concern was initially to just replace the metal that was worn off and then the more I looked at it, the more I got to wondering why not rotate the pin so it can't rub against the pavement. I suspect it's easier to lift the blower using the bend in the pin as opposed to just the cotter pin so I have to look it more closely.
