Yup. It's all in the prep. That's what's taking so long. Between stripping/sanding the part, priming it, wet sanding it then painting it the hours are really adding up. Heck I don't even think I'm doing a good job almost rushing too much. I've got a nice coat of paint on the hood and seat pan and once it's good and dry I'm gonna wet sand them with 1200 and go one more coat for good measure.

Well it's 95% done. Just have to clean up the throttle and choke levers/cables and get them installed and hooked up. Still need a headlight lens and tail light. Other than those few items that's it. I hope to fire it up and take it for a spin tomorrow.

Well if you were at the Big Show then you may have seen the finished product. I kind of "buffaloed" everyone including my good friend Steve and said I wasn't going. That's why I was in a rush to get this thing done. While at the show I picked up the last few parts I needed to complete it. I got the headlight lens, the correct battery tray from Scott, and some great foot mats from Eldon. Of course in my rush to get this done I forgot that the voltage rectifier needs to to bolted to a grounded surface and seeing as I painted all the parts individually, that got taken out. I replaced that with a used one from a vendor and added a ground wire. Then i noticed the amp meter charging then falling back to "0". After some trouble shooting found the ignition switch was also bad and bought a new from Dale, one of the vendors. That solved the problem and I was good to go. I didn't get a chance to hook up the lights or mount the one in the rear but those are the last things that need to be done besides painting and installing that NOS battery tray. I'd like to find a nice clean seat with no rips or tears but that can wait.
