If, and that's a BIG if, I was to go, I wouldn't be able to leave till after 3:00pm on Thursday. One kid has half day of school and the other has a full day. The oldest actually has school till the following Monday. But I don't think it's gonna happen. We are leaving for vacation the following Tuesday and I have a bunch of stuff to finish on the camper and around the house. There's not a lot of time between now and then and the clocks ticking. I would really just like to get the tractor completely done before we go away for vacation.

Marathon sanding, priming and painting day today. Everything is painted except the rims, lift arm and the transmission. Transmission is back together and just needs primer and paint (ran out of both today!). Tomorrow I should have the frame, steering, engine, transmission and a few other parts all assembled.

I spent the first few hours this morning assembling the frame and steering. I got to head out to get more primer and paint. I should be able to get some more done tonight. Tomorrows a wash thanks to that dreaded thing called work.

All the steering parts including the block, tie-rods, front bearing, vertical shaft etc are all NOS parts. I installed the steering tower and the vertical shaft and there is no play what so ever!

That's enough for today. Here where it stands. Just a few more minor pieces to paint and It can all go back together. Boy it's great having a second complete tractor to compare for re-assembly. I can't believe I can't remember how everything goes!

Jeff-

That tractor is looking really good. As usual you always go the extra step to make it right. You have just over 7 days until the show....

Like I said, wishful thinking. I mentioned it to the wife and she wasn't thrilled with the idea, especially with our vacation being so close. She reminded me of my list of things to get done before we leave. Working so much on this tractor is severely cutting into what little time I have left to get things done.

Spent a few hours in the shop tonight. More re-assembly. I think by tomorrow I should pretty much have it all back together minus the hood, fender pan, seat and tires and rims. I have to head over to Steve's to use his D/A to sand down the hood and fender pan. I want those to come out really nice. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Went over to Steve's house today and we used his D/A and sanded down the hood and the seat pan. Gave them a coat of primer before I left so I could wet sand them later today. Got home and did a few things and got everything set up. Wet sanded and painted the top sides of both parts. Tomorrow I will do the bottoms. I sanded the hood brackets and primed and painted those and a few last parts I had to finish. Still have to brake the beads on the tires and sand, prime and paint them. It seems like the sanding, priming and painting will never end. I should have more pictures tomorrow. Been outside all day and I'm shot.

Nut and bolt restorations are time consuming and monotonous but worth it in the end!

It doesn't look like much different from the pics above but the painting is a pain in the _ _ _! Just when I think i'm done there is something else that needs to be done. It's really getting old but I've come this far so onward I go. Really in the home stretch. Of course I also ran out of the red paint. I think i've used a dozen cans so far. Got to work tomorrow so I won't get back to it till Tuesday.

I only got a light coat on the underside and then ran out of paint. So on Tuesday i'll wet sand them again and give them a final coat. Hopefully I can find the paint!

Looks good! I see you stuck the decals on already, how much curing time with the red paint before you applied them?
