leeave96 487 #1 Posted April 14, 2014 I know the maximum points gap on a Kohler engine's points is something like .020 inches. What is the max or minimum setting you have found on your Kohler engines? Anyone using a timing light to set the points gap vs static? The points push rod. I assume it will pull straight out of the block? Is this a wear item that ought to be replaced from time to time? If so - when or what length or something else? Thanks! rmaynard 14,948 #2 Posted April 14, 2014 There is a whole topic that was just posted recently on points push rods. They do just pull out. The topic can be found at: As to the gap, I have always found mine to be around .020, but I set it staticly, so it may vary slightly.
