Dieselcowboy 210 #1 Posted April 10, 2014 Have any of you ever had a grand that while driving normal down the road will just shut off? Doors unlock and check engine light comes on like you shut the key off, but didn't. I wiggle the key all around and nothing trying to make it shut off. I've heard tell the CPS can cause this symptom. squonk 42,816 #2 Posted April 10, 2014 They have a body computer and security system that can cause all kinds of trouble . Also if it has an aftermarket remote starter installed rip it out. My son had an 02. Did all kinds of strange stuff. Took it to a GM dealer and they removed the start kit and problems disappeared. Lousy connections the installer used was the main culprit. Dieselcowboy 210 #3 Posted April 10, 2014 this car is all stock. nothing extra. I did put a resistor in the harness and flashed the computer to recognize it to bypass the theft system. it wouldn't start at all when the theft system worked. have not seen the theft light on since. car sets alot inside and no winter's. I should also add that when it dies I throw it in neural and crank it, fires up like nothing ever happened.
